Currently, Karen is faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center’s (KUMC) Doctorate of Physical Therapy program and a student in the PhD program at KUMC, studying Rehabilitation Science and Physical Therapy. She has worked for over 18 years in acute care and outpatient physical therapy at Truman Medical Center, an urban level one Trauma Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Mrs Bock received her Master of Physical Therapy from Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Missouri. She earned her board Certification of Wound Specialist (CWS) by the American Board of Wound Management in 2005 and Certified Lymphedema Therapist 2007 by the Norton School, Lymphology Association of North America (LANA) certification in 2012. Mrs. Bock has been recognized for excellence in clinical education instruction as the 2018 recipient of the Central ACCE Consortium 2018 “Kathy Johnson Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award.” She was selected as the University of Kansas Doctorate of Physical Therapy program’s“Clinical Instructor of the Year” for 2016. In Spring 2018 she was awarded the “Young Investigator Award” at the Symposium on Advances in Wound Care (SAWC) for peer-reviewed poster presentations. Most recently, in Spring 2020 awarded the “Best Overall Poster Presentation” at the Australasian Lymphology Association spring conference.
