MargaretSecrest, PT, CLT-LANA has been at Bradley Whiteside Rehabilitation treatinglymphedema, edema and related disorders since April 2014.
Sheis the Southeastern Regional Liaison board member for LANA the LymphologyAssociation of North America. Her states include: Alabama, Florida, Georgia,Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.
She received a BS in Physical Therapy from theUniversity of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 1990. She has been a practicing Physical Therapistin Chattanooga, TN since 1991. She initially worked in a variety of inpatientand outpatient settings with emphasis on orthopedic injuries. After being certified as a Manual LymphaticDrainage Therapist in August of 1999 by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies inFt. Lauderdale, FL, she began exclusively treating lymphedema patients in aprivate outpatient clinic.
InAugust 2000 through March 2014, she along with 2 partner Physical Therapists startedAvalon Therapy Services, the only freestanding clinic in Southeast TN that was dedicatedto treating lymphedema and other edemas.
She was nationally certified by the LymphologyAssociation of North America in May of 2001. She was an organizer for theTri-State Conference “Shedding Light on Lymphedema” February 2002 inChattanooga, TN. She has attended multiple advanced courses including one byGunter Klose at the Foldi Clinic in Germany in June of 2005. She is a former clinicalfaculty member of the University of TN at Chattanooga for Lymphology and thetreatment of Lymphedema. She is a member of the APTA, the Oncology SectionAPTA, the National Lymphedema Network, and the International Society ofLymphology.
