Margaret Secrest, PT, CLT-LANA has been at Bradley Whiteside Rehabilitation treating lymphedema, edema and related disorders since April 2014.
She is the Southeastern Regional Liaison board member for LANA the Lymphology Association of North America. Her states include: Alabama, Florida, Georgia,Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.
She received a BS in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in 1990. She has been a practicing Physical Therapist in Chattanooga, TN since 1991. She initially worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings with emphasis on orthopedic injuries. After being certified as a Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist in August of 1999 by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, she began exclusively treating lymphedema patients in a private outpatient clinic.
In August 2000 through March 2014, she along with 2 partner Physical Therapists started Avalon Therapy Services, the only freestanding clinic in Southeast TN that was dedicated to treating lymphedema and other edemas.
She was nationally certified by the Lymphology Association of North America in May of 2001. She was an organizer for the Tri-State Conference “Shedding Light on Lymphedema” February 2002 in Chattanooga, TN. She has attended multiple advanced courses including one by Gunter Klose at the Foldi Clinic in Germany in June of 2005. She is a former clinical faculty member of the University of TN at Chattanooga for Lymphology and the treatment of Lymphedema. She is a member of the APTA, the Oncology Section APTA, the National Lymphedema Network, and the International Society of Lymphology.
