Phyllis Harr has been the Western Regional Representative to LANA since 2007. Since her
graduation from the University of Washington with a BS in Physical Therapy, her professional
career has evolved in a variety of employment settings that have included acute care, skilled
nursing facilities, home health and medical surgical environments.
Currently, Phyllis is a Senior Physical Therapist at Kaiser Permanente in Roseville California. She
has focused solely on lymphatic and venous disorders since she was certified as a Lymphedema
Therapist through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies in 2000 and LANA certified in 2001. In
addition, Phyllis is a certified Jobst -Elvarex, Juzo and Circaid fitter.
Through her work at Kaiser, the largest HMO in the nation, as well as her private practice, Phyllis
has brought perspectives that are unique. In each setting she has dealt with the commonality of
implementing education and treatment practices as well as many of the economic implications
associated with this condition of “insufficiency” - which is still early in its recognition and
Beyond her role as a liason between the public/professional lymphology community and the
LANA board, Phyllis’ goals are twofold. First, her objective is to help expand the circle of support
for those with similar medical interests, goals and backgrounds. Her second objective, for those
dealing with the potential of life changing issues associated with lymphedema, is to contribute
however possible toward a better overall understanding of this condition, increased self-care
ownership and the best quality of life that is possible.
