Biography

Dr. Mark Schaverien is an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He is Co-Director of Translational Research and Co-Director of the MD Anderson Cancer Center Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema Leadership Team.

Dr. Schaverien is an expert in complex reconstruction and microsurgery, in particular breast reconstruction and lymphedema surgery. He has over 90 publications and 60 invited national and international presentations and is an active researcher with interests in outcomes and translational research, including funded research in lymphedema surgery. Dr. Schaverien is an Associate Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Member of American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery.
