Dr.Chen is a clinical professor of plastic surgery at Cleveland Clinic. He serves as the head of regional microsurgeryand supermicrosurgery and co-director of Cleveland Clinic’s multidisciplinarylymphedema center.
Heis recognized for his expertise in lymphatic microsurgery andsupermicrosurgery. He pioneeredprocedures such as the “octopus” LVA, high-precision image-guided LVA, “blind”anatomically based LVA, “acrobatic” free-style LVA, vascularized lymph vesseltransfer, “flying squirrel” liposuction techniques, and the hybrid lymphaticreconstruction. Many of these procedures have been adopted by surgeons worldwideas mainstays of lymphatic reconstruction.
Hehas completed 148 invited lectures and keynote presentations around theworld. He was invited as visitingprofessor to 38 academic institutions domestically and abroad to share hissupermicrosurgery/lymphedema techniques.
Dr.Chen was recognized by Marquis Who’s Who in 2015 as one of the most influentialAmerican reconstructive plastic surgeons. In 2020, he received Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
