This course provides comprehensive wound management training. Extensive on-line pre-course work covers all types of wounds: Venous Leg Ulcers, Arterial Ulcers, Pressure Ulcers, Neuropathic Foot Ulcers, Atypical Ulcers, Burns, Moisture Associated Skin Damage, and more. Scope of training includes wound etiology, differential diagnosis, assessment, debridement, dressings, modalities, cellular and tissue-based products, and many other topics.
The 2 Day live training includes a variety of hands-on labs and workshops: practical application of wound care skills, VLU compression bandaging and compression garments, conservative sharp debridement, maggot debridement, skin care, moisture management, and other aspects of wound management tailored for Venous Leg Ulcers, Lymphedema, and Phlebolymphedema. Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to develop a comprehensive treatment program for wound care that addresses barriers to wound healing, using a complex case study.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to discriminate between and arterial, venous, neuropathic and atypical ulcers, pressure injuries, and MASD, IAD, and ITD.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to manage Intertriginous Dermatitis, Moisture Associated Skin Damage, Lymphorrhea, and Radiation Burns.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to justify the use of MLD for wound healing.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to choose appropriate dressings and compression for venous leg ulcers, and other types of wounds.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to evaluate tissue for signs of secondary lymphedema.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to distinguish between treatment interventions for CVI versus Phlebolymphedema.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to correctly apply compression bandaging for venous leg ulcers.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to choose appropriate compression for Phlebolymphedema.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to list three different types of wound debridement, two interventions to reduce procedural pain, and two contraindications to conservative sharp debridement.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to demonstrate effective conservative sharp debridement on simulated models, including scoring, shaving, and excision of necrotic tissue. 
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to create a Maggot Debridement Therapy system, on a simulated patient model, using maggots and accurate dosing.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to choose appropriate debridement options based on wound characteristics.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to demonstrate correct techniques for basic wound care, including continuous preservation of a clean field, wound cleansing and irrigation, wound measuring, and dressing application. Appreciate the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach in the diagnosis and management of patients with head and neck cancers and subsequent lymphedema.
